The Beast of Bear-tooth Mountain, Out Now!
"Jordan wasn't sure what terrified him more, the horrible truth that monsters were indeed real, or that they were just as inventive as men."
Well, it’s finally here folks, The Beast of Bear-tooth Mountain has been released on Amazon. If you pre-ordered the Kindle version, it should automatically download to your Kindle and appear as a part of your digital Amazon library. If you’ve been waiting for the physical paperback copy, then you can order that now through Amazon here.
Mostly I just want to say thank you all for your support. I got some great feedback after releasing the preview a few weeks back and received more pre-orders than I would’ve thought as a result. I especially want to thank my wife for all her help editing the story and building the actual book design throughout October. I couldn’t have done it without her.
Also, I’ve shouted out to them before, but I want to again highlight both Elicia Johnson and Rev. Josh Robinson.
Elicia read the story a few drafts ago and gave me super helpful pointers that forced me to get rid of some moments and cut down others, not to mention better elaborate on why my characters make the choices they do. Go check out her Substack Plain Jane and follow her own writing/artsy/farm-life journey.
Josh also read my story and thoughtfully promoted my work on his own Substack, The Narnian. His work on the Sword & Staff Podcast, as well as his short story The Wormaid’s Lair, helped inspire The Beast of Bear-tooth Mountain in the first place, and I couldn’t be more excited for his upcoming book Re-enchanting the Unseen: Angels, Demons, and Strange Beings from Time and Space (pre-order here). Clearly, it’s right up my alley.
Additionally, some of you have undoubtedly noticed that The Beast of Bear-tooth Mountain is only Book 1 of the larger Bear-tooth Mountain Archive. Of course, Book 1 implies an eventual Book 2, and though I have yet to start drafting, Book 2 is certainly in the works. Given how long it took to finish the first installment, I won’t put a timeline out there as to how long it’ll take to finish the second part, but I will say that there is more to the story.
Until the second book comes out, expect a few short stories to hold you over that are a part of The Bear-tooth Archive, stories that may take place in a different time than the original novella. I’m almost through with the first of these, titled The Middle-Night, which I will be releasing digitally (sorry folks, no print release for this one) around Christmastime. Stay tuned!
If you wish to receive immediate updates on future releases in The Bear-tooth Mountain Archive, visit my Amazon Author page and click “Follow.” New releases and pre-orders will immediately appear in your email inbox as soon as they become available.
Thank you all again for all your love and support! No writer can exist in a vacuum, and it’s because of all of you that I even have a platform at all. If you do happen to purchase and read The Beast of Bear-tooth Mountain, I’d be indebted to you if you left an honest review either on Amazon or Goodreads. I say honest because it helps me to be a better writer. More reviews (especially good ones) mean that the book will be found by more people.
Peace be with you all!
I absolutely LOVE this cover and the font and title page--really well done. Congratulations on your debut novel (albeit, several months late). Are you working on anything now? I found you through Elicia's Substack and looking forward to learning more about both of you and your work.
